“I have come that they might have life, and that they might have it more abundantly” ~ John 10:10
To whom much is given much is required. Community Church has been blessed to be a blessing to others. One of our core values of stewardship is generosity. We give in the areas of benevolence and missions. Ten percent of all undesignated offerings are distributed to individuals and ministries both in Gunnison and beyond Gunnison. By combining our resources, we can do more together for others than any of us could do individually. We help support non-profits in Gunnison such as Hospice and Habitat for Humanity that exist for the benefit others. We offer counseling support to those unable to help themselves. We reach out to youth by helping support the Choice Pass, a youth incentive program. Missionaries supported by Community Church have direct ties to Gunnison. We partner with two national pastors who conduct ministries in the Dominican Republic and Sierra Leone.
Giving financially is not the only way Community Church is involved in missions. We also are committed to going on mission. Each year teams are sent to help minister to people in need. Mission trips have gone to Mexico, Peru, Taiwan, Navajo Nation, Ground Zero, Biloxi Mississippi with Samaritan’s Purse, Dominican Republic, Sierra Leone, and joined in Colorado flood relief efforts.
Community Church also maintains a Benevolence Fund. Through this fund we offer food, transportation, lodging, utilities, and medical relief to people who have emergency needs.
We believe the scripture that says, “Give, and it will be given to you. A good measure, pressed down, shaken together and running over, will be poured into your lap. For the measure use, it will be measured to you.” Luke 6:38
If you would like to get involved in some fashion we encourage your support. Just reach out to our office staff to find out the needs and how you can help.
